Travel to Edinburgh 

Edinburgh Airport is located approximately 13km outside of the city centre.

Air

Edinburgh boasts an international airport with flights from North America and many European and UK destinations, Taxi, tram and bus links connect the airport to the city centre with a journey time of 30-35 minutes.

Alternatively you may fly into Glasgow and take the train to Edinburgh. 

Rail

Edinburgh Waverley is the closest train station at around a 15-20 minute walk (uphill). Haymarket is around a 30 minute walk from the central campus.

                                          

Taxi

A taxi from the airport will cost on average £25.00-£30.00 and will take approximately 20-30 minutes. A taxi from St Andrew's Square Bus Station or Princes Street to the University's central campus will cost approximately £7 and take around 10 minutes.

Bus

From the airport, you can take the Airlink 100 service which will take you into the heart of Edinburgh City Centre. A single ticket costs £4.50 and a return ticket is £7.50. Contactless card payments are accepted.

Tram

There is a regular tram service connecting the Airport to Edinburgh city centre. A tram from the Airport will take approximately 35 minutes and takes passengers to the main city centre tram terminus at St Andrew’s Square. A single ticket from the airport will cost £6.50 and a return ticket is £9.00.
